Welcome to my blog!

I’m Grant Nice. A life full of curiosity and wonder is a fun life; here I share what I’m curious about with a lens toward lifelong learning and improvement. I write about personal experiences, stories of other people and reflect on them to learn.

My goal is that every year I’ll be able to look back and say “Grant, you used to be a terrible writer!” And feel satisfaction at having learned something that makes me better at serving others.

I generally publish 5-10 minute reads on the themes of curiosity, thinking and getting better. Two of my most popular posts are Einstein: What is Genius? and Sharing and Catching Joy. I love hearing from readers -- please feel free to send me a message (@grant_nice on Twitter) and let me know what you think of the blog.

A little more about me…

I was born and raised in central Indiana and migrated south to Spanish Fort, Alabama in 2016. I'm a husband, eager Purdue fan, golfer, tennis player, engineer, outdoorsman, ballroom dancer, singer, avid reader and Buffett/Munger-style investor. I’m a full-time chemical engineer and in August of 2020, I founded Birch Bark Capital, an alternative asset management firm.
